Bernie the Barber - bliptogether#2

My powers of charm and persuasion have paid off again and I added Bernie the Newington Barber to the bliptogether community. He was actually delighted to cooperate and is looking forward to seeing the end result.

Had Bernie not been customer free and therefore available, I was planning to hijack Stuart the Gas Man who paid his annual visit to the castle this morning to service the boiler and fires. He is the loud guy with the personality and builder's bum who makes his presence known in no small way in the castle and drives his Lordship mad but who is totally reliable and a constant yearly visitor. The gas boiler loves him.

Having paid Stuart with the last cheque in the book (how will we cope with the large stash of paper money needed to pay him when the cheque books are phased out?) his Lordship thought to order a new book. His rage at the frustrations of speaking to operators in far flung regions of our erstwhile empire was magnificent to behold. It appears he couldn't understand their accents and he it is who hails from Dundee. Amazing really. He only calmed down when I produced, like a magician, a new cheque book from the desk drawer. If only he had thought to look there first!

A late night on the cards tonight when my book group discuss "The Great Lover" by Jill Dawson, a novel about the poet Rupert Brooke. I went right off him by the end of the book........ he was completely self obsessed, at least in the novel.
