Louise - Changing Natures

Up Helly QBR!

Very exciting day today!

The Commonwealth Games are coming to Glasgow this month, and the Queen's Baton Relay has been touring Scotland - being taken each stretch of the way by local people nominated for doing amazing things and contributing to their communities.

We nominated lots of young people we work with across the country, with significant numbers being selected, and it has been such a joy to see them carrying the Baton - showing just how amazing young people are.

There were several running today as the Baton reached beautiful Shetland - but this blip marks something else - a member of my staff team who was selected! We are so incredibly proud of him - we all gathered round the computer this morning to watch the live stream on the BBC site, and there were huge cheers when he appeared! What was even nicer was he then handed the Baton for the next leg onto a young person we had nominated and was selected.

A very good day - so thrilled for M and his family - he so well deserves such an honour. And the occasion just had to be marked for posterity - so forgive the quality of this screengrab pic - it was the best I could do!
