Protest

The word is out that Bakewell police station is to close.
Naturally this has given concern amongst the residents as we have oneof the lowest crime rates in the UK and the police station in town obviously goes some way to us achieving these figures.
But as we're in the midst of government instigated slashed budgets and cuts, cuts and more cuts something has to give.
It's a sad that we're a victim of our own success.
When I lived in the city I'd been present on quite a few marches and protests some against police SUS laws and the like, so this protest made a refreshing change.
