Queens Baton

We missed seeing the Olympic Torch when it passes through Aberdeenshire because the nearest place on the route would involve at least a 40 minute drive, but today we got to see the Queens's Baton on it's relay around the commonwealth as it passed right past our front door.

It was a busy old day. We had an early church service to all us all to see the baton passing, followed by the family service and BBQ at the end of the holiday club for the eldest and a birthday party for the middle boy.

By mid afternoon we were all flagging but we managed to summon enough energy to clear out the boot of the car, wash the outside and swop the bike racks for the roof box in preparation for the big adventure which kicks off next week.

In the evening I went out for dinner with my pal who is back home visiting from America and had a grand old chat in a child free zone.
