Death of a Coffee Pot

I've always been a great believer that too much washing isn't good for you - and here's the proof - for the second time in this coffee maker's life (which I think is around 15 years - maybe Mr H can correct me) I have managed to break the pot while washing it.

Replacement comes in at about £16, and I think it was about £15 last time, so does this justify a new coffee maker instead of a new jug? Moral, ethical and monetary dilemma - what do you think?
