It's Grim Up North

The Tide At Arnside

The ebb tide on Morecambe Bay, at its most extreme, can fall back 12km. Then, when it returns and hits the narrower estuary at Arnside, it returns very quickly. In spring and autumn there is often a bore.

Today was a normal tide, the siren sounded to warn people to get off the sand and soon the channels started to fill with fast flowing sea water.

(Morecambe Bay has a surface area of 310 sq m, so plenty of opportunity for Blips.)
