Living in Manchester

Grosvenor Square

All Saints Church gave its name to this district of Manchester, now part of the campus of Manchester Metropolitan University. Though the church has gone, the square on which it stood remains consecrated ground.
This is an area I know well. On the far side of the square is the new St Augustine's church, built in the 1960's.

My eldest son was christened there in 1985 by a lovely priest known as 'late Kevin' by the other priests in the area ;-)

Here is one of the flower borders in this lawned, student oasis.
