Strawberry Thief

I watched this baby blackbird being fed this morning by its mother. It stood there, all helpless, squawking pitifully, beak open while mum trotted about collecting odd bits to satisfy this voracious appetite. As soon as she disappeared, presumably looking for more food, the 'helpless' chick was in my strawberry patch having a darned good go at pecking my fruit to bits. The newly fashioned cage thwarted it and my berries remain intact.
