Last weekend we had the tenth annual Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail. It has become a major event and attracts visitors from a wide area of North West England and beyond. From Friday at 5p.m. to Sunday at 5p.m.there were 100 exhibitors in 37 locations spread over the two villages. There was a wealth of talent with paintings, sculptures craftwork and photography. Blip per Gladders photo exhibition was part of the event. It was brilliantly organised with hundreds of signs and a bus connecting the two villages.

One of the locations was in the National Trust's Eaves Wood where art works using natural materials were on display. On my walk today from home to RSPB at Leighton Moss I came across several of these still in place. I was attracted to this friendly person with acorn eyes and twigs for hair and could not resist a shot.
