Yellow-tail moth

A good catch in my moth trap last night and at least 6 (so far) new species for my little garden. It was difficult to decide which one to feature here, but this one - the Yellow-tail - won in the end because it made such a nice image with its reflection on the perspex cover of my trap. It looked to me as though it was completely equipped for the Arctic, with furry hat and leggings and camouflage suited to ice-flows. As it rested in the shade of my garden shed at mid-day I felt quite sorry for it on one of the hottest days of the year, imagining it to be sweltering and regretting its choice of attire today, but at tea-time it fluttered away quite happily.
