a life in photos

TIMBER.............

Literally....
This lovely old house, somewhat weather, rotten and totally unsafe, was pulled down with great ceremony today... it was pulled down for safety reasons, it was beyond repair, and a hazard, especially as young holigans seemed to like the idea of camping out in the "haunted" house and causing lots of ruckas. Not great, so down she came.
She put up a fight, this photo shows the very last chimney listing (its actually falling) towards the ground, and all that's left is a pile of timber and bold bricks.
A beautiful old traction engine, lovingly restored, was the workhoorse that did the damage, and it was a toss up between the engine and the house for the blip.
The owners, a long standing local family have been on the property for over 100 years (the house was built sometime prior to 1886, although not by the current family), who have owned it since around 1895. The pulling down of the old house was witnessed by friends, and relatives, and other long standing families from the district, complete with barbeque and the odd bevvy to celebrate.
