A Collector of Oddities

Osprey

Pandion haliaetus

A quiet day as my sweetie still has a bad ankle. We went to see the Ospreys at Loch Insh who were very skilled at the art of photographer baiting. Both adults were in a tree next to the nest and one was holding a fish. They stood there for absolutely ages and eventually, as it started to rain we gave up and packed up our stuff and started walking away. Then heard a load of *squawking and just caught the adult dropping the fish off in the nest through the trees! Dirty rotten swine. We also staked out the hides at Insh Marshes for a bit but it was very quiet, nothing like Tuesday.

*Thanks Talpa for spelling!

Holiday snaps start from here, please do look at the beautiful Capercaillie at the link!
