Bishops House

Normal Saturday in that the kids went swimming and Sophie had dance class.
Kids did great at swimming lessons, today, Oscar got his 800m swimming badge and Sophie got her 400m swimming badge. Very proud Dad :)

On the way back from dance class we stopped off at the Bishops House, which I pass on a regular occurrence but have never visited!!

Bishops' House is the best surviving and most charming example of a timber framed house in the City of Sheffield. It is located at the top of Meersbrook Park, and was once a farm surrounded by fields. The House was built at the end of the Fifteenth Century, around the time two members of the Blythe family became Bishops, hence the name, but their historical connection with the House is unconfirmed.

It was really quite an interesting visit, although the kids just wanted to runaround!
