Breakfast Cruise on the Harbour

Lorraine and I have had a busy day. It started with ideal weather and a breakfast cruise around the harbour. As you can imagine this was most enjoyable. The bottom harbour shot is of the Barangaroo site. This development has been quite controversial and includes a new casino (like we need another one)! Better to view LARGE to see this.

After breakfast we walked up to St. Marys Cathedral for a tour of the building. This was with an older men's group that I am part of. The tour, which was supposed to leave at midday left early, as mass apparently finished early, but anyway we managed to get things sorted out. (No photographs allowed though.)

Following on from the tour Lorraine visited her mum and I joined the Bust the Budget march. This was one of many protests around the country expressing dissatisfaction with the proposed Federal Budget. Our new conservative Federal Government claims we are in rotten financial shape and therefore need to cut spending and apply additional taxes, both of which unfairly (I think) impact those who are least able to pay. I took a photo of the protestorsbut they don't appear all that unhappy!
