Queen's Baton Relay ...

...arrived in the village this morning.

Despite a rainy weather forecast the sun came out to welcome the baton and the baton bearers. Lots of 'extras' arrived too - police, reporters, film crews from the BBC, photographers, villagers and visitors.

It was great to see an event like this in the village. I don't think I've seen so many people line the street since the days of Santa arriving in a tractor.

This young man, Andrew McLeod, was one of the baton bearers. He was good fun and spent lots of time with people who wanted to take pictures and chat. He had a little dance with a couple of people while the pipe band played. We were standing beside his dad who showed us a photo taken a few days ago. Andrew had very long dreadlocks in the photo which he had cut off yesterday to raise money for charity. Apparently he has raised a lot of money for charities.

Seems you lot are a sucker for a cute photo. Thank you for the overwhelming response to yesterday's photo. :)
