Kielder Forest

We went for a stroll in Kielder Forest this afternoon. We got away later than we wanted but did manage to get back to the Landrover before we got lost in the dark!

We took the walk up towards the new Observatory,it's about a 3 mile hike. The snow was quite deep in places and the dogs had a great time diving around, chasing each other. We saw a few other folk, most coming down as we walked up!

We stopped at the Sky space art work. You can walk inside it and look up at the sky through a circular hole in the roof. The sky appears almost to be solid when framed in this way. Strange.

My photo was taken simply cos I loved the twisted branches and the view behind.We walked back in the gathering gloom, the dogs had run themselves stupid and were tired and begging to be carried. I was cold, my feet freezing.

That hot cup of Earl Grey was soooo welcome when we got home.
