Rackwick Cliffs

We flipped across to Hoy again today to see CMC's mother.

Went through to Rackwick, a very bonny day but then the showers have now arrived.

Original crofts that can be seen are The Shore, then the Muckle Hoose. The square building is locally referred to as the Test Hut'. This hut was used for testing the first telegraph connection across to Orkney. It used to be owned by the under-rated artist Ian McInnes.

At the top of the cliff (after a 40' scramble down) is a classic place for Puffins. However when I'm round there now I can't understand how I used to have the nerve to go and seek them out. I wouldn't do it now.
