Unexpected visitor

I was looking up after hearing a plane and saw this guy flying low over one of my trees. I had my 300mm on my older D3000 and grabbed it and was able to get off 3 shots before he went out of sight. I have seen him before but way to high to get any captures. Anyone know what kind it is?
