Liberty

It is pouring with rain, the tent is wet and the forecast is terrible. We took shelter for the day at the National Liberation 1944-45 Museum in Groesbeek near the German border which was brilliant. It is centred on the Allied Operation Market Garden which tried to liberate the Low Countries and bring WWII to an end. It covered life in the Netherlands during the War and during occupation, the Operation and the aftermath, then the end of the war and the rebuilding of the country. It's purpose is to provide both a memorial to those involved but also to educate about human rights, peace, democracy and freedom.
