Elementary School Rebuild #Haiyan #Philippines

It was 8 months ago that Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, wreaking havoc, destroying livelihoods and causing devastation on such a mass scale. It took many lives, and for the survivors the path to recovering still stretches far ahead.

We are very grateful to everyone who supported our emergency appeal, as well as on the ground immediate action providing shelter, food, medication and aid, we have also been helping people piece their lives back together for example providing fishermen with boats so they can make a living. A touching story from our team in the Philippines reached us this morning, using recycled spare material from the boat build to rebuild an elementary school for children.

"Through IMPACT Foundation's build a Boat workshop for the rebuild phase to restore livelihood and put food on the table for the vulnerable families...we recycled the materials leftover into a Kindergarten Hut with two classrooms serving 100 children."
