My Life With Luna

Rustic Temple at Houghton Hall

We travelled to North Norfolk today to visit Houghton Hall, a property privately owned by the Cholmondeley family. We took several photographs (although photography was not allowed in the hall) of the outside of the house and gardens and this one kept coming back as my favourite.
It is a rustic temple with oak Tuscan pillars and a pediment filled with deer antlers designed by Julian and Isobel Bannerman. I liked it for its quirkiness.
The hall houses the biggest collection of toy soldiers in the world, all in display cases depicting various battles.
Well worth a visit if you are in the Kings Lynn area of North Norfolk.
You can see more detail in large.
