Another Languedoc year...

La Voie Verte

Blipper BrodieB and I have been taking short sorties along a newly discovered route called La Voie Verte. It runs a full 75kms between Bedarieux and Mazamet, was previously a railway line, and is now a fantastically easy walk. You can take it in easy stages, as we do, or hire an electric bike or take your own bike, wheelchair or running shoes. There are no cars or traffic, so it is wonderfully peaceful. Every five minutes or so you hear a cheery 'Bonjour' as you pass someone, or a cyclist tootles by. The scenery is magnificent as you amble through the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc.

Today we walked the section from Lamalou les Bains to Le Poujol sur Orb and back. On ambling down into Le Poujol to check out if they're having fireworks on Bastille Day, we came across these gargoyles which look filched from a church. Can't think they'll last as long in such easy reach of people. One has disappeared from its place already.

(Yes, it's been a while since I've blipped. I apologise. Too many other things got in the way. However, I think I may have my blip mojo back. We'll see.)
