Ah, chateaux. In the Val de Loire. They certainly knew how to do them. I don't think this moderate hunting lodge is extravagant enough!

The only problem with Chambord is that as it's under government ownership there isn't a huge amount on the inside - a few random art exhibits but not much in the way of original furniture or fixtures. Indeed, much of the art was, ahm, interesting(ly bad).

Beautiful grounds however and a great place to spend the day before heading back for a couple of hours in the pool and an ice cream.

Better large to see the fanciness.
