So near... sofa....

Say a big "hello" to "Soggy Sofa". This large lump of fabric covered foam was purchased about 33 years ago for £99 and has provided many, many nights of comfortable sleep for myself, multiple generations of my family and friends and Nemi. Today was supposed to be its last day as it was unceremoniously dumped in favour of a spanking new sofa bed.

However the utterly, utterly unhelpful delivery guys (from a major international delivery company) complained first of all they couldn't get their van up the road despite the fact that massive lorries come up here every morning to supply the school. Then they complained the sofa bed was too heavy and needed four men not two and finally that they didn't think they could get it up the stairs. At this point they left with said sofa bed and said they would come back with more people another day.

I then had a very rude phone call from their head office implying that it was all my own fault for expecting delivery guys to, you know, like deliver, and stuff and they would grudgingly have to "see what they could do".

At that point I rang the shop where we made the purchase and told them where they could stick their sofa bed (assuming of course they could find anyone willing to deliver it up there). Apparently they hadn't realised it would be on the first floor; firstly they didn't ask and secondly the "bed" part of the name suggests a certain class of room which generally occupies a superior level of floor.

TLDR - good old Soggy Sofa gets a reprieve!
