Hoy High Lighthouse

My mother phoned from Stromness today to say that she was a 'bit concerned' - there were two policemen right outside her front door. She had forgotten that the Commonwealth Batton would be passing her windows.

We avoided the crush and went to Hoy. The boat travelled to Hoy via Graemsay which gave us a good view of one of the the island lighthouses. You can also understand from this view why Stromness is located where it is.

We travelled home to the Mainland later and we will be once again across on Hoy tomorrow for the AGM of the Friends of the Hoy Kirk.

CMC is making further murmurings about two new bathrooms, in the back-end, and had me measuring! Time for a Glendronach.
