At the building site

Each morning before we start work at the building site, we make a circle with all the Ugandan builders and the volunteers and pray together in Rukanyole, the local language and in English. It is a very special time and really unites us as a team. We remember the children who will benefit from the results of our efforts - young disabled children, who can be nurtured, valued and educated at Kitazigurukwa Primary School. Often in African countries, a child born with disabilities is regarded as a curse and he or she may be kept away from other children. Here, the church is helping to provide opportunities for these children and their families and, at the same time, show the able bodied children who learn alongside them how to help, befriend and encourage them. It's a great project!
