Life in Newburgh on Ythan

A day in the forest

Another view that could be Scotland, a peaty brown burn flowing over a small waterfall in the depths of the forest.
We spent the day tramping along a river through the forest in one of Nova Scotia's national parks. The names of the park and the river say much about the complex settlement history of this nation. The river is the River Mersey, which flows by the village of Liverpool. The park is the Kejimkujik National Park. Kejimkujik is а Mi'kmaq word meaning "tired muscles".
