Floating Boats

Walking along the harbour in Marsaxlokk there were numerous really colourful boats bobbing in the harbour.

A rather disastrous day really today. Walking down some steps in Medina, camera in hand as it had been all day my wide angle lens suddenly dropped off onto a tiled floor and then proceeded to roll and drop down the stone staircase in front of an audience of people having lunch. I was utterly stunned and the crack and noise it made on it's journey was sickening! Looking into the lens there are two fork like things stuck in the middle, the auto focus doesn't work and neither does the dof on manual. The automatic seems to do something but it's going to have either to be mended or an insurance job. I can only blame myself and think on picking the camera up from the table I must have pressed the disconnect button accidentally, taken two shots, moved the focusing ring to finally seal it's doom to release it. There is no other possible explanation.

On the plus side we have done quite a bit of Malta today which has been interesting. I would say that on a remote track we came across an area where they are trapping songbirds in nets to shoot as they fly in on their migration. Hideous!! It is supposed to be illegal but I think they turn a blind eye. Am in full support of Chris Packham and his stand against it!!

What was really lovely was going into a church with a choir practising for an event. So very moving and uplifting with the notes echoing round the dome.
