Afternoon Tea on the Lawn

The weather looked promising ... provided you headed West. So I jumped on the M3 and headed westwards towards Dorset. It was a toss-up between the Jurassic Coast or a visit to a stately home with its draw of intellectual stimulation (walk round the house), macro photo opportunities (walk round the garden) and refined living (morning coffee and afternoon ice cream in the stable cafe). The latter won, though mainly because it meant less time driving, and a visit to Kingston Lacy near Wimborne ensued. All my expectations were fully satisfied and the weather was glorious.

The butterflies, bees and hoverflies were out in force in the garden and borders edging the main lawn in front of the house. This hoverfly was making the most of it, stucking the nectar from a flower (I forgot to note what it was - except it was in the blue and white border!)
