Early morning, Granton

Flat, grey sky this morning - in sharp contrast to yesterday's blue and blazing start - so a comfortable cycle to Cramond and back by 9.

At the right angle, the monstrous carbuncle blocks of 'apartments' (Heaven forbid they should be called 'flats') that squat in arrogant possession of the shore and skyline at Granton and Newhaven can be ignored.

The apparent demise of the Waterfront project is probably not good, but perhaps if it is revived we will be able to get a rethink on how best to build housing without destroying the shore walk, or the views across the Forth to and from Fife, for everyone else.

Rant over for just now.
