Housewife's Choice

Henley Festival 2014

We went with four other friends and had a car park picnic. The main event was Burt Bacharach who played some old favourites with a great band and wonderful singers. We then wandered along to see Rick Wakeman in one of the other tents and I was blown away by his wonderful piano playing. I know Rick was part of our generation but I wasn't a great fan of Yes at the time so would never have thought of seeing him if he hadn't been there. He played a complete piano version of "Morning Has Broken" and it was fantastic, he has a very dry sense of humour and is a great raconteur so do go and see him if you get the chance :) Anyway I've tried to capture the magic of the evening which includes a floating stage with a back drop of small craft floating up and down the Thames.
