The Eagle Gets the Fish

I started out photographing an osprey yesterday afternoon over Thurston Branch when a larger bird appeared in my viewfinder. At first I thought it was another osprey, just closer, but it was an eagle. The eagle circled around, dropped closer to the water, and grabbed a fish. It appeared to have trouble gaining altitude in the hot, light air as it headed toward the Lynnhaven.
