It looks so harmless!

This is an oleander flower, the first this year on my oleander shrub. It was given to me by a friend, as a house plant. When it got too big I put it outside to take its chances and it has survived frosts and harsh winters and is now six feet tall. It produces lots of heads of these pretty flowers.
When we lived in Kenya we were told that oleander is very poisonous, so much so that even inhaling smoke from an oleander bonfire can be dangerous! My RHS book says all parts of the plant are toxic, so I do make sure all visitors are aware of this and it is in a fairly inaccessible spot.
