Beach at the end of the world

Jacqui and have me have known and loved this special beach for a lot of years and this year we aimed to get the kids there.
Sandwood Bay is a magical place. Sitting in grand isolation a few miles south of Cape Wrath, the most north-westerly point in the mainland UK and nearly 5 miles from any road access. .
We had a glorious day. The official tales of mermaids at the beach, helped on the long walk but the kids managed the 10 mile round trip admirably.

A beach is still a beach though. Remoteness and setting mean very little to 4 and 5 year olds so it was business-as-usual for the girls; racing through the surf and making sand angels.
