Now Le Grande Depart has departed

It's vaguely amusing and in some ways kind of sad. In a strange last minute attempt to make Leeds look lovely, as well as filling in a few strategic pot holes in some roads, someone went 'round putting more flowers and hanging baskets around the place. Like a student hiding the worst bits of clutter under the bed before his parents visit and spraying some air freshener about the place. Not that I'm saying Leeds isn't a lovely place, in some ways it is. It also can look a bit bedraggled around the edges like any big city. It's sad that the hanging basket here is a dried up husk now the French people and the people on bikes have gone, the weather's been hot and no-one is around to water it. Still I think, like Leeds, it's still strangely beautiful in some way.
