Sunset After the Rain

This cloud formation lasted about 30 minutes after an evening of rain. It was worth walking down to the Causeway and the Pilgrims Crossing to see this wonderful sunset of clouds. I do not know if you are someone who look at the clouds sometimes and make shapes out of them, but for this evening this formation looked for all the world like a golden phenix flying overhead. One moment it was there and nest it had gone...

It was a quick time behind the camera lens this evening. A chance to capture something of the day before it was missed. I had intended on trying to get a sunset here on this part of the island because of the reflective quality of the gentle rippling water. It was a simple image, but you had to be there to witness it. When the phenix had melted away, the dark gray/blue clouds remained hiding the light of what remained of the day.
