Nine summers

Eat. Sleep. Gym. Repeat.

It was interesting seeing Sal compile her Summer Bucket List. A couple of gym moves went on first; moves that she's been working on and wants to tick off before gymnastics club finishes for the summer break. That was easy. And then .... um ..

The truth is, she's pretty easy to please and hard to read. She doesn't ask for much and is generally happy with her lot. Often, all she really wants is to get to gym on time, work hard, do well, eat, sleep, repeat.

Here's Sally's list:

1. See a real elephant
2. Go to the zoo
3. Go to a trampoline park
4. Get a trampoline
5. Go on the biggest trampoline in the world
6. Make tea for the whole family including Eton Mess for pudding
7. Go on a flying trapeze
8. Have a midnight swim
9. Invite Tash & Jess for a sleepover
10. Go to Kidspace
11. Go on a Saturday jog
12. Make ice lollies
13. Finish reading Wonderstruck
14. Get 'cast to handstand' on bars as a new move
15. Do a back tuck into the pool on holiday
16. Eat a whole steak-on-the-stone in Spain
17. Get a 'flick' on beam as a new move

The scaffolding poles are coming in handy as a makeshift gym, and Tom has found two new ways to break into the house. Tom and I slept in the tent in the garden last night, and ticked No. 17 off his list. It was noisy! The planes went over every 4 minutes and the foxes kept fighting. The cat jumped on to the roof of the tent at 1.30 am and slept on my chest, on the roof, for the rest of the night. And I wish Jamie and I hadn't talked about rats as big as cats right before bedtime .. Despite all that it was fab, unbelievably toasty and cosy, I loved it, Tom loved it and it was great to tick another thing off the list.
