The Marquis Of Ailsa Craig allowed the military to use an airstrip to train new pilots near his home at Culzean Castle in Ayrshire, Scotland.

As a thank you they gave him the propellor from the aircraft that shot down the first Zeppelin just outside London in 1916

Its now a light fitting.
