Day 1 holiday - not!

Stacks to do to leave work at noon for a 5 day break break in Melbourne.

Left half an hour late as I was writing a grant submission last night instead of packing and then hoped to pack at 11.30 for a noon departure but couldn't get home till 12 for a 12.30 exit. I'm a seasoned quick packer! Still would have been in good time if there hadn't been an accident ahead on the M7 and we were at a standstill or crawl for ages.

It's an interesting thing, going through the stages of what's happening, should we turn around (if we could), perhaps we'll miss the flight, think we're going to miss the flight, we're going to miss the flight, what's the plan. . . . . I reckon we would have snuck through if I'd been on time. Bob was good. And a missed flight and extra money, way better than the unfortunate people in the accident.

Rebooked way later (ridonculous prices before), swiped up a film at Randwick - Lunch Box, a quick vino or two at the Wine Library and then on to Melbourne.

Arrived at our destination - 1.20 am!
