Children celebrating new well

It was great that the American members of our team were able to see the creation of this new well through from start to finish. Working alongside Simon's wife Sue and the Mission4Water team, they set up the tripod on Day 1 of their trip, drilled through sand, clay and a layer of rock to find water, sunk the pump, packed the filter stones and finished the top with handle and cement surround. By yesterday it was ready to hand over to the community who will use it - some 25 households and a primary school. Here you can see the happy children behind a pile of new jerrycans which were donated by the team to carry the new water.
