Still standing.....

Taken at full zoom from across the Tyne, this is the (in)famous carpark in Gateshead from the top of which Jack Carter (played by Michael Caine) threw Cliff Brumby in the original (and, in my view, best) 'Get Carter', 1971. They've been on the verge of pulling it down for years but haven't quite got around to it yet....

Interesting fact, the film location for Cliff Brumby's house just happens to be Dr Concrete's (Thursday's bliptogether victim model) family home at the time, and as Michael Caine would say 'not a lot of people know that'

.....except apparently Michael Caine never actually said that at all, it was from a Peter Sellers impression of the great man on the Michael Parkinson Show in 1972. Probably even less people (including me) knew THAT!
