Ruby Princess

Tonight on the way home through Greenock, I noticed a cruise ship was just leaving its berth at Ocean Terminal.

I made my way over to the Esplanade to get a few shots of the Ruby Princess as she was manouvering in the estuary. She is currently on a British Isles cruise and is making her way up to Invergordon.

The Ruby Princess was launched in November 2008, and she spent her maiden season cruising the western Caribbean roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The $400m ship, which was built by Fincantieri at the Monfalcone yards in Genoa, Italy, has a displacement of 113,000T, an overall length of 290m, a beam of 36m, 19 decks, and can make a maximum speed of 23kt. The Ruby Princess has a maximum passenger capacity of 3,782 and 1,200 crew members.
