A Bing, a Bench, a Bike

Long before 'bing' was a search engine, and well before 'Bing' was pa-rum-pa-pum-pum-ping with David Bowie, these bings would be part of the landscape anywhere there was a coalmine or pit. Since we've no collieries around any more the huge piles of accumulated spoil from long abandoned tunnels have been turned into semi-wild green spaces for the communities left behind.

I managed to get to the top of this one in Fallin, the remnants of the Polmaise Colliery, without snapping the bicycle chain this time, and spent a nice wee spell watching the clouds roll in from the mountains and over Stirling. It's a great spot to take in views of the Forth Valley and beyond.

Best LARGE.

Apparently, and happily accidentally, these might be turning into a series now.
