The Hawksclough Hawk

This is a cast iron sculpture of a hawk by Kenny Hunter.

It is located by the hamlet of Hawksclough, on the Rochdale Canal near Hebden Bridge.

The former Poet Laureate Ted Hughes was born in nearby Mytholmroyd and spent his formative childhood years in the fields and woods around the town. The sculpture takes inspiration from his poem “Hawk Roosting”.
