First paddle 2010

What with the heavy rain and moderating temperatures the ice has mostly melted off (and yes I was joking about the ice breaker bow) so it was off to Lake Fred for the first paddle of the year.

Wet suits were a safety must as the water was hypothermia in disguise. I've flipped in cold water before and it is most painful, and though I've no reason to flip in Lake Fred, a dip in this sans wet suit would be quite life threatening.
