A Dog's Dinner

The Weeman

Glasgow has a well deserved reputation as being a place where anyone will talk to you in the street and tell you about the city. Well meet The Weeman. He's a retired docker, recovering from a heart operation, not uncommon in the city, who took in upon himself to give me the in and outs of the new Clydeside developments, while out for his daily 'strenuous walk'.

" Now take this new BBC Centre - It can't work until lots of little companies come along side. Their like parasites - they need a fat host"

Can't argue with that.

When I was young dockers looked like Chic Murray and wore 'bunnets' - where did he get the wraparounds and the Peruvian headgear?
