Please Give Me

O Please...give me,
Some vegetables to eat.
A slice of brown-bread,
And a serving of meat.

Give Me...O Give Me,
A piece of thin cheese.
A pat of potatoes,
And a spoon of those peas.

Set me some water,
So crystal and clear.
And let those creamed carrots,
Be placed over here.

Spoon me some chili,
Make generous your dole.
And pass it on over,
In that yellow-brown bowl.

Let me send THANKS to heaven,
For my kind, loving care.
And if someone is starving,
Please give him my share.
