Decay

We lost all of our snow cover yesterday after a brief intrusion of warm air and heavy rain. Now we are left with ugly mats of decaying leaves and a few sprigs of hopeful green here and there. This image was shot in false color infrared to enhance the somewhat ghoulish appearance.
