Dinner is served.

We are honorary grandparents.

Little Jenny wren has been sat on her eggs for the last two weeks and today she's started going out and bringing back the bacon spiders. I heard the tiniest sounds from the nest this afternoon. The nest is right in the apex of the overhanging bit of the summerhouse. Here she is sat on top of the door before she flies in. She's so sweet and sits and looks and nods her head right at me every time she comes and goes. Mr wren has also made a reappearance and seems to be pulling his weight too. I'm all for the modern family.

The wrens eggs are only 16 mm in length and there can be upto 6 in a clutch. It'll be about 2 weeks before they fledge. providing Marvin doesn't get his paws on them. (We have made it Marvin proof, and he seems to be unaware and to have lost interest for now, hopefully it'll stay that way).

The new mum has come and gone three times whilst I've been typing this. Congratulations little wrens! I think you're fab!
