Another funeral

So far this winter, we have had 3 funerals in a month.
This is Bob Waterhouse, a well respected surgeon from Geelong. It is exhausting getting ready for these big funerals, what with all the order of service prep, sermon writing, people wrangling, chair lugging, and then the funeral itself, the burial, assisting with catering and sweeping up at the end.
But do you know, I loved every minute of it. The chance to connect and support the family was worth every one of those 36 chairs we carried from the hall across the road to the church. Every one.
I should mention that I was fast asleep on the sofa by 8pm though. The kids put themselves to bed!
